Children are naturally creative. Shloka A Birla School includes art in everyday classroom activities to make exploration not just exciting, but also educational. Our environment enables free art exploration to strengthen motor skills, cognitive development, focus capabilities and to tickle both sides of the brain for accelerated brain development. Our Art Studio is one of the most favourite places for children at school. It is where they thoroughly enjoy using a variety of tools like rollers, brushes, stamps, sponges, leaves, stems, forks and a lot of other types of natural and synthetic materials for art.

Dance

The ability to start dancing develops in children before they can even form words! Through Dance, children learn a vast range of motion, body awareness, balance, muscle strength, coordination, and endurance. It is not only entertaining but also develops social skills and the ability to express and emote. Shloka A Birla School seamlessly includes Dance into the curriculum to enable kinesthetic learning. Gardening

Gardening engages all of the senses! Squish your hands in the dirt. How does it feel? Let’s add some water. What does it look like now? How does that flower smell? We grew this vegetable let’s eat it and see how it tastes! Hear that crunch when we bite into it? As you can see, it’s easy to incorporate sensory play into a gardening activity! Gardening is meditative and offers so many exciting opportunities for children, and has many benefits. It not only develops their motor skills but also teaches them the value of responsibility, patience and helps them to learn how to plan and organise. Gardening is an essential part of learning and development at Shloka A Birla School. Through the gardening sessions, children also learn how to nurture and care for another living being at an early age, shaping them into empathetic individuals.

Mindfulness

Social and emotional learning is as essential for a child as academic learning. At Sloka A Birla School, we follow a holistic approach towards learning by making Mindfulness a part of classroom learning by integrating it into classroom-themed activities. Mindfulness means maintaining a moment-by-moment awareness of our thoughts, emotions, bodily sensations, and surrounding environment with openness and curiosity. The activities include exercises in breathing, sensory experience, guided imagery, and movement. It revolves around Mindfulness of the mind as well as body and has numerous benefits. It makes them happy individuals and equips them with the skills to face the challenges of life.
